13 militants shot dead as Navy recover oil laden ship



Officers of the Nigerian navy shot dead 13 militants who took part in hijacking a ship laden with petrol in bayelsa.

Early yesterday morning, a ship identified as MT NOTRE , carrying 17000 metric tonnes of petrol was recovered from the armed bandits who had hijacked it on the gulf of guinea.In the process of recovery, Heavy gunfire exchange ensued between the Navy and the militants.

13 of them militants were shot dead while others jumped ship and fled.The shootout lasted for about 30 minutes.
