The much anticipated film/documentary project ‘Daughters of Niger Delta’ has premiered at the on-going Abuja International Film Festival (AIFF).

The film  premiered on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Silverbird Cinema, where the Abuja International Film Festival is holding.
Produced by nine female amateur film makers trained by Media Informative Narrative Development (MIND), Daughters of the Niger Delta depicts the story of the Niger Delta-  marred by over 40 years of oil and gas pollution.

The film tells the story of courage and resilience of three women: Hannah Tende, Naomi Alaere Ofoni and Rebecca Churchill from Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states, their struggle against poverty faced with unfavourable customs and traditions.

Through the film, the producers attempt to draw public attention to the harsh realities on ground in respect of the human rights of women and children as well as development issues facing the Niger Delta areas of Nigeria
