‘Scandal’ star Kerry Washington loses out at Emmy Awards 2013

Kerry Washington has had a nice run with the political thriller television series but apparently not enough to win her the coveted award for ‘Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series‘ at this year’s Emmy Awards.
Kerry lost out to Claire Daines who had a stunning, breathtaking performance as lead actress in the crime series ‘Homeland‘.

The awards which held on September 22, 2013 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California saw crime drama series ‘Breaking Bad‘ walk away with the biggest award of the night ‘Outstanding Drama Series‘. ‘Breaking Bad‘ actress Anna Gunn won the award for ’Outstanding Supporting Actress‘.

‘Gonna get some wine and some popcorn and put on my white pajamas and just be fierce all over my living room. #gladiatorsdontcry‘, Shonda Rhimes, writer of ‘Scandal’, jokingly tweeted after Kerry lost out.
